IPG laser welding for precision assemblies, minimal distortion, and clean, GMP-compliant finishes.

Laser welding at Kurveline uses the IPG Laser Welding Machine — which produces a fundamentally different result from conventional MIG or TIG welding. The concentrated laser beam delivers heat to a narrow zone, producing a tight weld bead with minimal heat-affected zone and significantly less thermal distortion. For assemblies where post-weld dimensional accuracy is critical, or where GMP crevice-free finish is required, laser welding is the engineering answer.

Kurveline laser-welds precision sheet metal assemblies — medical device chassis, cleanroom furniture joints, stainless steel enclosures, and structural frames requiring tight post-weld tolerance.

  • ±0.5 mm post-weld tolerance demonstrated on a 31-component medical device chassis (EM200 — CII-AMTZ MedTech Quality Champion Nominated 2024)
  • In-house welding fixtures designed and manufactured for every tolerance-critical assembly
  • Receiver gauge check at every unit — not just first-article inspection
  • GMP crevice-free weld finish available — appropriate for pharma and food contact surfaces
  • IPG laser welding produces high-strength, low-distortion joints suitable for structural assemblies

Our Process

01

Brief / GD&T Drawing

Assembly requirements, materials, and GD&T tolerances confirmed with the client.

02

Fixture Design & Manufacture

Welding fixtures and receiver gauges designed and made in-house for each assembly.

03

Production Welding

Components laser welded in the fixture with parameters set for each material.

04

Receiver Gauge Check

Welded assemblies checked on the receiver gauge for post-weld tolerance.

05

Surface Finish

Product-contact joints ground and polished to a crevice-free finish.

06

QC Documentation & Dispatch

Inspection records compiled and assemblies released for dispatch.

Quality & Engineering

Every welded assembly is verified against in-house receiver gauges at each production unit. Dimensional records and weld inspection are documented. Material traceability certificates are available for SS grades. CII-AMTZ MedTech Quality Champion Award Nominated 2024 — EM200 Medical Device Chassis.
