Precision-welded medical enclosures with ±0.5 mm tolerance and in-house fixtures.

Medical device enclosures are structural assemblies, not sheet metal boxes. They must hold sub-components in precise dimensional relationships after welding, maintain accuracy across a production batch, and meet the same tolerance at unit 50 as at unit 1. This is solved at the fixturing stage — not the inspection stage. Kurveline designs and manufactures welding fixtures and receiver gauges in-house for every precision assembly.

Medical device enclosures and chassis for diagnostic devices, therapeutic equipment, surgical instrument systems, in-vitro diagnostic instruments, laboratory analysers, and precision clinical equipment.

  • ±0.5mm post-weld dimensional tolerance — demonstrated on the EM200 Medical Device Chassis (31 components, CII-AMTZ nominated 2024)
  • In-house welding fixture design and manufacture before production begins — control built into process, not inspected-in after
  • Receiver gauge check at every production unit — not just first-article
  • IPG Laser Welding — narrow HAZ, minimal distortion for precision assemblies
  • Material certificates and production records available for medical device quality documentation

Applications

Diagnostic Devices

Precision structural chassis for imaging, point-of-care, and laboratory diagnostic equipment

Therapeutic Equipment

Housings for therapeutic devices requiring precise component location and structural integrity

In-Vitro Diagnostics

Enclosures for IVD equipment requiring dimensional accuracy and surface quality

Health Tech Startups

Hospital-grade clinical equipment enclosures requiring repeatability across production batches

Customization

Assembly configuration, dimensional tolerances (post-weld), material grade, tapped hole specifications (size and quantity), surface finish, hardware provisions, and production quantity can all be specified. GD&T drawings preferred for tolerance-critical components. Fixture design is included in project scope for precision assemblies.

Our Process

01

GD&T Drawing

Tolerance-critical drawings received in DXF, DWG, GD&T, STEP, or PDF format.

02

Fixture Design & Manufacture

Custom welding fixtures and receiver gauges designed and made for the assembly.

03

Production Welding

Components laser welded in the fixture across the full production batch.

04

Receiver Gauge Check

Welded assemblies checked on the receiver gauge for post-weld tolerance.

05

Tapped Hole Verification

M3/M4 tapped holes checked for position and thread quality across the batch.

06

QC Documentation & Dispatch

Inspection records compiled and assemblies released for dispatch.

Quality & Engineering

Every assembly verified against in-house receiver gauges per unit. Dimensional records, weld quality inspection, and tapped hole verification documented. Material certificates available. CII-AMTZ MedTech Quality Champion Award Nominated 2024.
